Rina and Kelly are obsessed with decoration, the domestic interior and the factory. They design products that connect with people through references to traditional textiles and the handcrafted.
bernabeifreeman continue to research the relationships end users have with the products they live with, emphasising the importance of the longevity of products for sustainability in design. From lighting to textile design, they aspire to create beautiful, quality designs that explore the significance of products in our lives.
Rina and Kelly formed bernabeifreeman in 2002 and their range of lighting and furniture has been widely published and exhibited, including at the Powerhouse Museum,Â Salone di Mobile and The Milan Triennale. They have won numerous design awards, including IDEA awards for product design and the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award.
They have worked extensively with architects on custom projects, collaborated with Designer Rugs to produce their first range of hand knotted rugs and have lighting products represented by ISM Objects. and a collection of homewares and furniture with leading outdoor furniture manufacturer Tait.
In their role as designers for Australian mill Waverley Mills, they have explored their love for textiles creating a stunning range of merino and alpaca throws.
They are currently working on new lighting and furniture products to be released soon..
